What I do all day

This is what I do all day when I'm not posting on this blog. This is Rhian (2 yrs) trying to climb out a window.

And here she is helping me with my knitting.

How about you?

old school some more

I know who this "Fish" is. There's a 90's "Fish", too, BTW. And PK is Peter K?

(voice of Chris Farley) "...unless you want to live in a VAN down by the RIVER!" I don't know about you, but that van looks like it was rockin'! I remember a van and a three seater station wagon when I played. Super fun. God, Boz smelled bad. Um, the bottom pict of the van there's a guy sitting in front with a lei. It looks like Boz. OMG. I think it's Dennis. Is Boz the Dennis of the 90's...? Or in the way of AskBoz.com, is Dennis the Boz of the 70's. Hmmm.

Fear and Loathing in Europe

Check you guys out.

Why didn't we do this in the 90's. Matt? Simon? Jeez.

PS these are super hi-res images. If you click on one you can read all the text. In that enlarged form, you can right click on them and (save as) save them to your computer so you have your own copy if you like.

aaaw, how cool is this?

The Ultimate Dad
Trey Hall

The team of over 20 players huddles in a tight knot that seemed to vibrate with enthusiasm. And the air pulsated with the sound of whispered plans and plays. Almost at the very center stood my father, conspiring with rest of the team on the best way to out play their college age opponents. The game is Ultimate and this match is steeped in tradition, the alumni on one team and current members on another, in essence, young vs. old.
The day was anything but pleasant, the air was bone chilling and damp, a fine mist hung in the air near soaking everything it touched and all the would be traces of the sun had been erased from the sky. Despite the unwelcoming weather, the game would commence. I scanned the playing field to get a better picture of the team at hand. Young and energetic, they seemed a daunting hurtle for the UConn Alumni to face and I smiled with pride when I thought that despite my dad's Alumni status he would certainly be one if not the only player to give those boys a good run for their money.
The game was exhilarating, and at times agonizingly stressful, I constantly worried about my dad knowing full well he's level of competitiveness could easily lead him to injury , possibly an injury that would destroy his 10 year old knee replacement. The game blew past me in dizzying points, both teams flew through the air, diving for the disc, pivoting quickly as they looked for the discs next destination and cheering raucously with every point that was scored. For a while the teams seemed evenly matched and the point count rose steadily but neither team truly got ahead.
At the quarter mark the fine mist turned into a steady rain, leaving the players muddy and chilled and the spectators struggling to keep warm and dry by squeezing together under barren trees. I again scanned the field and this time allowed myself and inward grin. Players on both sides were suddenly remembering old ailments, a hurt calve, and twisted knee, a broken toe, all bands of guilt.
As the game wound down to the final seconds, He stayed strong showing me determination. That’s my dad, a man leaving behind giant shoes to be filled, but walking barefoot alongside to show me the way.

"Captain's" meeting

From our website:

"So its official...the 2008 alumni game organizing sub-committee will meet for a non-agenda, mean-nothing meeting at Black Eyed Sally's Dec. 29. Fish, Yellow Socks, LG and Mrs. LG, Mr. and Mrs. Harpo are kind of in! Of course, it's open to all."

Anyone have a time for this?

"Captain's Meeting " in Hartford, CT

Could someone please include the date, time and place of the "meeting" in a comment?

BTW I just heard from John Ianni (aka Johnnyonny). He claims that he "used to be prematurely gray". I waiting for photodocumentation.
